Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and her advocacy works

It has only been a little less than five months since Filipina beauty queen Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was crowned Miss Universe 2015 in United States, but the “most beautiful woman in the universe” has kept herself busy with the advocacies she’s pushing forward.

Pia, crowned in December, continues to be vocal about her desire to spread HIV/AIDS awareness around the world and end the stigma surrounding the disease/infection, as well as her fight for gender equality and women empowerment.

She is also active in supporting different causes for children and families struggling with poverty or diseases.

The beauty queen works with different organizations to push her advocacies forward, and in less than five months, she has been all around the world to promote the causes she believes in and continues to fight for.

Here are only some of Pia’s advocacy works—from Smile Train and Project Sunshine to Aid for AIDS and United Nations Women for Peace.
